Correspondences Musée d'Orsay / Contemporary Art

Correspondences is a series of events designed, from >October 2004 to 2008, to present the Musée d'Orsay collections through the eyes of contemporary artists. According to the concept, two contemporary artists, one of whom is French, representing dissimilar styles and techniques, were invited to choose an artwork from the Museum collections alongside which they present one of their own pieces. The resulting dialogue enabled works in the collection to be perceived in a new light and lends a fresh resonance to their lasting modernity.
