Musée Cognacq-Jay

Jean-Baptiste Huet, the Pleasure of Nature

From 6 February to 5 June 2016

Jean-Baptiste Huet developed a naturalistic and gracious style at its best in his pastorals, poetical landscapes and animal representations.
Representative of a serene and realtively carefree French 18th Century, Huet's art is a formidable tribute to the beauty of nature, between dream and fascination.
The Musée Cognacq-Jay will present the first monographic exhibition on the artist with a selection of paintings, graphic works and decorative objects of his making.

Member offer: reduced rate €5 (instead of €6) during the full length of the exhibition on presentation of your Carte Blanche.
Museum also accessible with the Carte Paris Musée (see below in the "permanent offers" sections)

Musée Gustave Moreau

Georges Rouault. Souvenir d'atelier

From 27 January to 25 April 2016

From 1892 to 1898, Gustave Moreau taught at the Ecole des beaux-arts de Paris. Georges Rouault was his favourite pupil, the one he considered representative of his pictorial doctrine. The exhibition intents to demonstrate the artistic connivence of both painters through a few common themes such as landsscape, women, spirituality, but also the question of matter and colour. It is also an opportunity to evoke, through the memories of his pupils, Gustave Moreau's studio at the Ecole des beaux-arts and to unveil the liberal teaching of a painter who considered himself a facilitator rather than a teacher.

Member offer: reduced rate €4 instead of €6 on presentation of your Carte blanche

Cinémathèque française

Martin Scorsese

From 14 October to 14 Februar, 2016

Member offer: on presentation of your Carte Blanche reduced rate €9 instead €11 available for two persons.

Palais Garnier

An architectural masterpiece famous around the world, Garnier's Opéra was the thirteenth opera house in Paris since this institution was founded in 1669 by Louis XIV. The construction was decided by Napoléon III as part of the renovation of the capital city conducted under his authority by the Baron Haussmann. A competition was organised to choose the architect who would design it and Charles Garnier was the winner. The construction went on for fifteen years, from 1860 to 1875, interrupted by many events including the 1870 war with Prussia, the fall of the imperial regime and the Paris Commune. It was eventually inaugurated on 5 January 1875.
