Musée d'Orsay: Realism and Naturalism

As some paintings in the display are currently being moved, this tour can be booked only until the end of December 2017.

Painters committed to depicting the reality of daily life – especially the world of work – contrast with those enamoured of idealism. Realism reached its peak with Millet, Courbet and the landscape artists of Barbizon, before evolving into what was then called Naturalism.
