The education team provides a range of exciting activities to explore the museum's collections and exhibitions. We like to bring young people into contact with the works of art, by covering formal, historical and literary aspects, so as to offer a wide choice of options to teachers, pupils, students and trainers, and to provide an appropriate and rewarding visit for everyone.
The museum's educational objectives complement those of schools, colleges and universities, but do not just aim to give students a collection of facts and reference points linked to the programme. By introducing museography and creating an artistic and cultural context, the museum visit helps to stimulate young people's interest in their aesthetic heritage, and encourages an interdisciplinary approach.
We propose a variety of trails to teachers and pupils, each one illustrating a different facet from the wealth of artworks at the Musée d'Orsay, from painting to decorative art, and from sculpture to photography.
Welcome to the Musée d'Orsay!
Teachers are reminded that they are responsible for the discipline of their pupils and for behaviour towards the tour guide, where applicable, at all times during the visit to the museum.
