Ian Bostridge, the Ceremony of Innocence

Coming from a 19th century tradition, the art of melody in Benjamin Britten’s work swings from exaltation to irony, from spirituality to venomous sensuality, and dares to express transgression and modernity.
Ian Bostridge, the undisputed master of English melody, established himself as the supreme performer of this music, so edgy and suffused with sea air.
The auditorium has joined with the Fondation Royaumont to make the English tenor’s visit more than a brief encounter. Ian Bostridge will initially give master classes there to young musicians. These will then come to present the fruits of their work at the Musée d'Orsay at two Lunchtime concerts. The singer himself will give a special evening recital to conclude the cycle.

Ce cycle est organisé en partenariat avec la Fondation Royaumont.
