Chronologically, it covers the "new painting" (Duranty), i.e. the generation that imposed itself around Manet under the Second Empire. Intellectually, these two days welcome all interpretations, provided that they follow a process of historical objectivation. Finally, they will be an opportunity to present the exhibition projects that the Musée d'Orsay will organise over the next few years.
