Impressionnism(s) : new projects

This symposium intends to establish a panorama of the current research on Parisian art in the 1860s and Impressionism, but also to make the most recent interpretative work available to the public.
Chronologically, it covers the "new painting" (Duranty), i.e. the generation that imposed itself around Manet under the Second Empire. Intellectually, these two days welcome all interpretations, provided that they follow a process of historical objectivation. Finally, they will be an opportunity to present the exhibition projects that the Musée d'Orsay will organise over the next few years.
