The Amont Pavilion

The interior of the Amont Pavilion, the station's former engine house, has been entirely reconstructed. As a result of this extensive building project, the exhibition spaces have been sensitively enlarged, new facilities installed (lift, connecting walkway), and a well of natural light created. Moreover, the flooring, wall colours and new display cabinets enable the European schools of decorative art - Vienna, Glasgow, Germany, Scandinavia, Central Europe - to be exhibited in the setting they deserve.

Painting too will feature in this space, with Courbet's large-scale works on the ground floor benefiting from new bespoke lighting techniques, and with the great Nabi décors displayed on the first floor alongside the furniture of their period.
