The Cabinet de l’Étrange

The legendary "Cirque des Mirages" duo stirs our fears and plays with them through a selection of their most scintillating songs, including some previously unreleased material. The two alchemists conjure onto stage a procession of characters and stories, each one more fascinating than the last, in an atmosphere where the strange rubs shoulders with the funny. In turns poetic, cheeky, unbridled, lyrical and phantasmagorical, the expressionist duo’s songs are a series of sketches that draw us into the twists and turns of the unconscious.

Seeing them on stage, with the great Yanowski on the verge of a trance, reaching out to the audience, one is inevitably reminded of Brel, but also of German expressionist cabarets. Beware of facile comparisons. The Cirque des Mirages asserts its roots while never resorting to imitation. And that’s what makes it so unique. An unforgettable experience.
