Peter Doig is regarded as one of the greatest living painters. For this remarkable counterpoint to works from Musée d’Orsay’s collections, he’s chosen a number of his own major canvases that relate to modernist concerns to do with perspective, color, place and decoration.

Born in Edinburgh in 1959, Peter Doig is regarded as one of the most important living painters. The artist hasn’t been the subject of a solo exhibition in France for fifteen years. A frequent visitor to and great admirer of the Musée d’Orsay’s collections, Peter Doig accepted Christophe Leribault’s invitation and chose to present some of his major works in the exceptional setting of the Museum’s domed rooms. At the same time, in an adjoining room, the artist will be dialoguing with the collection by drawing visitors’ attention to and commenting on a selection of works.

The exhibition is now over.
