Musée d'Orsay: Auditorium

A multi-disciplinary purpose

The auditorium's aim is to present a wide range of events, music and film in particular, representative of the artistic content of the period covered by the Musée d'Orsay (1848-1914), and representative of its permanent collection and temporary exhibitions. Symposia, talks and shows for children are also regularly featured.

The room

The auditorium is an intimate room seating 330, eight of which can take people in wheelchairs, located on level -2, beneath the museum reception area. It has exceptional acoustics thanks to its wooden structure. Using the latest technology it puts on films and a variety of shows ranging from shadow theatre to opera.

The auditorium has a magnetic loop for visitors with hearing aids.
