Conditions of Access to the Library and Archive Centre

Opening times

Monday to Friday, 2pm to 5.30pm

From the Seine side: 9 place de Montherlant 75007 Paris

 

Booking required

  • For consultation days and times
  • For documents

You have already registered in 2020 with the Archive Centre and Library

  • You have an up-to-date reader’s card

  • You book your day and time slot by email (soon) or by telephone on +33 (0)1 40 49 47 08 during opening hours.

You have not yet registered in 2020 with the Archive Centre or the Library

  • Registration is free and is valid for one calendar year

  • The application form will soon be available here

  • Please complete the form and return it by email 48 hours before your visit.

  • A reader’s card will be prepared in advance and provided in an envelope when you arrive.

You can book 30 minute time slots from Monday to Friday, from 2pm to 5.30pm, for the Archive Centre or the Library, or for both, by calling +33 (0)1 40 49 47 08 or by emailing the following address: (soon).

 

Which documents would you like to consult and reserve?

For the Archive Centre

For requests to consult the archives, please complete and return the form by email 48 hours before your visit.
General Documentation boxes are freely accessible.

For the Library

You are looking for an artist’s monograph, an exhibition catalogue, a collection or collector, etc:

  • Before your visit, consult the on-line Library catalogue and carefully note the section in the Musée d’Orsay where the work is kept.


Consultation via “public” internet platforms is not possible.

References for Salons and journals can only be consulted on site.

Vous avez réservé votre place et vos documents pour une ½ heure, 1 heure ou plus…

Bienvenue à la Bibliothèque et/ou à la Documentation

  1. Entrez par le 9 place Montherlant, côté quai de Seine du musée
  2. Il n'y aura pas de vestiaire
  3. Venez avec votre propre matériel. Aucun matériel de bureau ne sera mis à disposition dans les espaces
  4. Prenez l'ascenseur seul.e
  5. Lavez-vous les mains ou utiliser le gel hydro alcoolique mis à votre disposition avant d'accéder aux espaces de la Bibliothèque et/ou de la Documentation
  6. Portez un masque pendant toute la durée de la consultation
  7. Installez-vous à la table désignée par la personne de permanence
  8. Les ouvrages ou dossiers consultés seront nettoyés ou mis en quarantaine.
  9. Les places et surfaces de travail nécessaire seront nettoyées avant et après utilisation.
