The spread of scientific and technical knowledge and ideals was a major stake of the second half of the nineteenth century. The documentary exhibition "Science for all", the title of which took over one of the mottoes of this enterprise of vulgarisation, evoked its multiple manifestations.
Parallel to the imagery spread by books, print and posters, the documentary exhibition recalled the forms scientific museography took and the existence of a "fairground science" which, from anatomic museum to scientific demonstrations, played its part in the dissemination of knowledge. Science as amusement and the science for children, the products of which (printed leaflets, imageries, toys) introduced science to families, and lastly the scientific novels, lastly, which combined, with varying amounts of success, didactic purposes with the pleasure to be found in fiction, were not forgotten.

The exhibition is now over.
