Musée d'Orsay: Degas Danse

Degas Danse

Inspired by the work of Edgar Degas, Aurélie Dupont and choreographer Nicolas Paul are presenting an exceptional creation. An immersive performance and voyage of discovery, Degas Danse is an experience within the exhibition and the museum spaces that questions Degas’ fascination with dance and theatre, how he conveys the ambiance of a performance, the stage and the wings. Degas seems to observe this universe to which he is so drawn from a distance. A dual perspective, both critical and captivated, that Nicolas Paul presents in a dialogue with his work. It invokes the codes of theatre and invites the viewer to discover its mysteries in a contemporary language combining choreography, performance, video and sound installations. A tribute to both the painter and the heritage of the Opera as part of this anniversary year.
