Decree no. 2006-358 of 24 March 2006 concerning the retention of electronic communication data means that records must be retained for one year from the date they were registered. The decree also specifies the nature of the login data to be retained. This obligation applies to all electronic communications operators, as well as any entity providing members of the public with a connection enabling online electronic communications via access to a network, even when free of charge.
Connection to the network for wireless Internet access with the Wi-Fi service of the Musée d’Orsay and Musée de l’Orangerie allows this electronic data to be collected.
Moreover, the device is liable to evolve to adapt to regulatory changes, and/or the appearance of new threats.
Access to the Internet brings with it inherent security risks (viruses, identity theft, spyware, spam, etc) which are the responsibility of the user.
