Originaire de Seine-et-Marne. Père de Théophile Soyer (1853-1940). Ciseleur, graveur, émailleur installé rue Mauconseil, puis au 4, rue Saint-Sauveur à Paris. Ne pas confondre avec le peintre Paul-Constant Soyer (Paris, 1823- Ecouen, 1903). Le musée d'Orsay conserve un fonds d'archives sur cet artiste, consultable sur demande.
