Musée d'Orsay: Welcome to the Musée d'Orsay

Welcome to the Musée d'Orsay

Access to the museum

Visitors must have time stamped tickets booked online, with the exception of members (Carte blanche, SAMO and AFMO) who can access directly at the entrance on presentation of their cards.

People who have booked a free ticket must present a valid admission ticket (or ID card with photograph, Paris museum pass, etc.).

Visiting conditions

Wearing a mask (not supplied by the museum) is compulsory for all audiences from 11 years old. Hydro-alcoholic gel will be made available to visitors at the entrance to the museum.

Access to the lockers and cloakrooms will be restricted to accommodate only objects that cannot be allowed in the museum galleries.

Access for visitors to the entrance and exit will be signposted, but circulation within the collection and exhibitions remains free. Visitors are asked to ensure that barrier measures and physical distance are respected by keeping more than a meter between visitors.

Some pieces of art are currently not visible at the museum. The museum mini-guide is available for download and indicates the rooms closed for renovation.

Please note:

Following the terror attacks in Paris on Friday, 13 November 2015 and to ensure the safety of our visitors, the museum is strictly applying the security measures decided by the French authorities.

The museum is open.

Only suitcases, travel bags and backpacks smaller than 56 x 45 x 25 cm are allowed.
They may be left in the cloakroom subject to space.

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience and delay which may be caused by the extra security checks at the entrance.
