Welcome to the Musée d'Orsay

Access to the museum

Visitors must have time stamped tickets booked online.

People who have booked a free ticket must present a valid admission ticket (or ID card with photograph, Paris museum pass, etc.).

Reservation of a visit time slot is strongly advised for admission to the The Origins of the World exhibition.

The ticket gives access to other temporary exhibitions within the limits of available places.
In accordance with the sanitary instructions, queues inside the museum are to be expected to access these exhibitions.

Visiting conditions

Wearing a mask (not supplied by the museum) is compulsory for all audiences from 11 years old. It is also highly recommended for children aged 6 to 10.

For safety reasons, access to the lockers and cloakrooms will be restricted to accommodate only objects that cannot be allowed in the museum galleries.

Visitors are asked to ensure that barrier measures and physical distance are respected by keeping more than 2 meters between visitors.

Some pieces of art are currently not visible at the museum. The museum mini-guide is available for download and indicates the rooms closed for renovation.

Please note:

Any abandoned object can lead to the evacuation of the public and be destroyed by the police. Be vigilant and keep your personal belongings with you.

Only suitcases, travel bags and backpacks smaller than 56 x 45 x 25 cm are allowed.
They may be left in the cloakroom subject to space.

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience and delay which may be caused by the extra security checks at the entrance.
