Anne-Lise Polchlopek, mezzo-soprano ; Nicolas Royez, piano
musée d'Orsay / Sophie Crepy

The young mezzo has embarked on a promising career, distinguished in particular by the Studio Opéra de Lyon and the Opera Fuoco company, founded by David Stern. With pianist Nicolas Royez, she devotes this recital to French song.

.

Saint-Saëns and Debussy, who embody the shift taken around 1900 by music in Paris from an often snide post-romanticism and a modernity not quite free of forays into a more classical style, will be the guests of honor. But the artist also wanted to pay tribute to two great female figures: Pauline Viardot, a phenomenal singer, a fairy godmother to geniuses of all disciplines and a now rediscovered talented composer; and Cécile Chaminade, whose art of song, with its delicacy and spontaneity, reached new summits in her time.
