Cultural Olympiad

As part of the Cultural Olympiad, L'Ensemble Les Apaches! returns to the great nave of the Musée d'Orsay to present a unique concert combining music and choreographic free-run. A veritable dialogue is created between the music and the performances of free-runners Johan Tonnoir, Simon Nogueira (French free-run champion) and acrobatic dancer Andrea Catozzi. Conductor Julien Masmondet combines the urban visions of three contemporary French composers with the minimalist music pioneer Steve Reich, who has influenced pop, rock and contemporary music for generations.

Les Apaches break free of the barriers of classical concert and take the Musée d'Orsay by storm with their Street Art program! The great nave becomes their playground and concert hall... Inspired by this controversial, free and multiform art form, Les Apaches have fun mixing genres, bringing together young musicians, composers, free-runners and acrobats. More than a concert, they take us on a sonic and physical parc(k)ours through the museum, where contemporary music of the 20th and 19th centuries becomes a field of experimentation around movement, rhythm and timbre.
