A hundred years ago, Paris hosted its first Olympic Games. That’s worth celebrating! And to do so, Musée d'Orsay is holding an Olympic Ball set to music by a 14-musician band: none other than the great Umlaut Big Band. So Musée d’Orsay’s participation in the Cultural Olympiad will be ending in true party style.
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the last Paris Olympic Games, come and dance the evening away and relive the excitement of the “Olympic Ball, Real Sports Costume Ball” held on July 11, 1924, at the Olympia Tavern, an event that attracted the artistic avant-garde of the day. Succumb to the contagious madness of the Charleston, Foxtrot and Lindy Hop and make sure you play along by decking yourself out in some of the era’s sartorial specialties!
