Faces of Impressionism: Portraits from the Musée d'Orsay
From October 19th, 2014 to January 25th, 2015
-
Fort Worth, Kimbell Art Museum
Map & itinerary
The Kimbell Art Museum opened an extension, giving the architect Renzo Piano an opportunity to try and measure up with one of his most renowned predecessors, the American Louis Kahn, who designed the original building.
After displaying its collections in the new pavilion - notably including such seminal works as Caillebotte's On the Pont de l'Europe and Cezanne's Maison Maria with a View of Château Noir - for its first temporary exhibition at these new premises the Kimbell Art Museum wanted to present a selection of paintings from the Musee d'Orsay focusing on the portrait during the Impressionist period, by calling upon emblematic pictures like Cezanne's Woman with a Coffee-pot.
The exhibition is now over.
