In the nineteenth century, representing nature by the means of photography was not a simple task, as different exposure times were necessary to render the sky and the earth. Yet the "primitives" made successful use of the constraints imposed by the technique and their achievements transformed the way we perceive landscapes. The impressionist painters in particular, born at the same time as the medium, were the inheritors of photographic vision. The study of nature by different photographers leads naturally to different directions, of which this exhibition offers an anthology.

The exhibition is now over.
