ENSBA. Grand prix de Rome en 1859. Architecte en chef du Palais de Fontainebleau en 1877. A participé à de nombreux concours comme celui de la Place de la République à Paris en 1880. Erige le cénotaphe du général de Lamoricière en 1878 dans la cathédrale de Nantes, en collaboration avec le sculpteur Paul Dubois.
